I suppose I can start a trend of whining analysing the TKRB events and not spam the wiki with my talking, plus limiting visibility of said comments.

The Village of Treasures or VoT ran from October 29th to November 17th and it was certainly quite the event.

First of all, I did get the sword or else I'd be raging and on the bringe of murdering someone. As of this moment I'm one sword away, the eternal Kogi and I'm going to murder someone because of this.

First things first, the event was so-so. It was very straightforward and simple with probably even less of preparations as opposed to the War Training Expansion or WTE (I'm not even considering the second Osaka castle because it was a rehash of the first one). However, there is something very important to address here. It seems that the TKRB events are coming with a trend of being extremely unforgiving to any new user.

WTE was very unforgiving to a newcomer. Assuming someone had just joined and got a squad, they had to prioritize the swords they were aiming for, so it was almost virtually impossible for them to get the newcomers in a go. With only 4 weeks to do all maps and getting 11 "rare" swords, they would have to pick what to do (and even this could be a fail if they weren't lucky in their maps).

VoT is even more unforgiving. At this point, it's almost a joke they add an easy map since there's little to nothing to be obtained there. Out of amusement, I calculated the amount of runs someone would have to go through if they just tried the easy map, assuming a very generous 50-bead per run. They'd need 800 runs to achieve this, which in turn means 267 passes (I refer to 3 runs with a 'pass'). Assuming they use all of the free ones every single day (20*2), they'd still need 227. Since a pass costs 1000 koban, the user would need 227k Koban to get Monoyoshi.

The "easiest" way to get him was to run the game on expert, and depending on the swords and levels, it could be ok or harder. In this map in particular, anything that hit multiple targets was important to have, so at least 2 Oodachi or a Naginata were needed. I run this with 3, but the ideal would be to have 4 Oodachi and a Naginata. A new user would likely not even have two, maybe one, so it's almost impossible to a newcomer to participate.

Now, the actual best things of the event are two:
First, Monoyoshi is the second guaranteed sword. In a game full of very unfair and trolling RNG, a certainty is mostly welcomed, especially after investing a ridiculous long time. 3 runs would take around an hour, so assuming you used only free passes, you'd need to invest 2 hours a day to get him. This time, it's almost impossible to multitask unless it's something not computer related, since the game demands the user to constantly click on the screen. Monoyoshi makes up the time commitment with a promise of getting the sword.

Furthermore, and not exactly apparent, is the cost or resources and tokens.
Unlike the other events, this one was damage-free, token-free, and only needed koban. Everyone ran expeditions because they gave Koban, plus resources and the higher ones would get tokens, whether help or request. Since no sword ever got hurt, the user would easily start piling them up (if they only played the event and stayed away from maps that have KBC or world 6 in its entirety). Last time in the Underground Chest adventure, help tokens and resources would become scarce the faster someone wanted to get. By making use of the least abundant and least used resource, users inadvertedly started preparing themselves for the third round of Osaka.

I didn't pile many resources, since I kept trying my daily forges. However, I have almost 200 tokens at the moment of writing this, which will come in handy. By varying the resources implemented and spent, the game can run indefinitely on events, since they won't actually make the player run out of something. Except time.

The game wasn't without issues, though. Even if Monoyoshi was a certainty, the time needed to get him was quite random. I have a slight suspicion the game was fishy the closer you got to 40k, since I kept suddenly getting 2-3 sword repeats and I'd not be able to even complete a 200-bead run. Furthermore, Monoyoshi was the only big goal. In my personal case, I was still missing Tonbokiri so this event was great for me, but the other sword rewards were hilariously bad: Gokotai, Nikkari, Honebami, Mitsutada; they all are laughable rewards for the amount and effort needed, especially since they all drop easily in many maps. Even the trial event had more attractive swords like Hirano and Urashima. I'm surprised they didn't offer Nagasone, Kogi, the rare 4, since they are harder to get and more promising. When the amount of 40k beads was announced, there would be many who immediately say they'd skip it, but if they also offered hard-to-get swords, at an easier cost, I think more people would have participated.

It was also very time-consuming and demanding, since you couldn't really multitask, as there were at least 3 clicks per node and not doing it would end up in big stalling. I honestly hope they improve drops or at least get rid of the eternal "EVERYONE DROPS" scheme, since it can be quite unrewarding to spend a lot of time and end up without anything.
