Hi, my name is Haya and when my swords aren't in immediate danger of breaking up and dying horribly, I live dangerously and go creative hard because I have to improvise to make up for my lack of commitment in the incredibly amusing art of fucking painful grinding.
Now, I've been playing for almost 10 months already and I haven't bothered to level up swords to the max level so far. Therefore this event is one of the times it really forces you to start up the creative juices to come up with strategies to not die and still attempt to get Blondie and Greenie, who I will properly call their names if they dare to bring their dignified asses to my citadel.
I've seen many strategies that are among the lines of "I brought this team of lv 99 swords". It is a valid (and very efficient!) strategy of course, if you actually have the 15 fuckers to fill in the slots. Me? A HA HA HA HA HA AH AHA AHAHAHAHAAA
I honestly do not have the motivation to level up everyone, so I have a rag of misfits with levels from 99 to 11 because that is how I roll. Because of this I had to come up with a strategy to help me go through this event and ensure I get an A rank to get Blondie. After all, with approximately 40k koban and religious commitment, Greenie is still available if you just do E3. I want to catch them all, so I'm trying to maximize the amount of runs I can do in E4 and use every single opportunity to get Blondie's forgetful butt. Now, I suppose this guide is available to anyone, and anyone in a similar situation can use E3 to level up their swords and then work their asses off in E4 once they hit a comfortable level.
I'm going to be trying several strategies and tweaks, from the incredibly irresponsible suicidal one to actualfrantic proper strategy of switching teamwork, the power of friendship and all that shit.
~Preparations
Before this, there is something you really need to consider before running E3. If you are reading this and have been doing events, there's a high chance you already cover this criteria but just to be safe.
To make things easier, I'll just divide the ten levels into:
P1: including Day1, Outdoor Night2 to force you to a fourth team or punch you in the face, Day3, Day4
P2: Indoor Night5 because the devs are dicks, Outdoor Night 6, Outdoor Night 7 with tanto
P3: DoublebuttyariDay8, DoublebuttyariDayRedux9, Day10 or the one you have to pay attention
I've highlighted in red the only one that is important for Blondie and in green those which might be hard to ensure you get to the next round.
Night 2 is annoying because it breaks the flow of a day team (aka the big guys) and it's too early for you to switch in your tiny murderous kids. Thankfully it is full of big guys in equally bad conditions but it might cost you precious troops.
Day 4 is important because if you do a three-change team, after this one you'll bring the kids but you have to ensure this team survives to this point. We'll talk about this in detail soon.
Indoor Night battle of annoying developments 5 is important because if you are soloing and have Oodachis, these ones will become the most useless things in the planet and a suicidal team needs a waki at the very least to ensure you get unscathed. Trying anything with only Oodachis might get you to pass the battle but at cost of troops.
Night 7 with tanto is risky because they have the one tiny fucker that might be capable of wrecking you. I've seen, though, that this one isn't capable of OHKO you unlike its unholy butthole piece of shit brother in 6-2.
Double butt yari days are obnoxious in that it's highly likely you'll get a B rank or even C because two rarity 5 yaris is a garbage but at least it's not on the BOSS OONE. Just ensure you survive here and you've done well.
Day 10 is the one you do need to pray to baby Jesus that you get an A. Hopefully, you'll team has survived enough to be able to destroy the enemy. Without butt yaris, things are comparatively easier since the yari here is a joke. Warning here, though, if you have swords on red as they getting KO'd might flush your rank down the toilet.
~A guide on teamwork or how to divide properly damage
This strategy hinges on the fact that you have enough-ish swords to fill in 3 teams for P1, P2 and P3. The main goals of teams 1 and 2 is to survive so that you get to P3 and start with an unscathed team. The first time I did this, I went with my highest leveled swords and rearranged them like this:
TEAM 1

TEAM 2

TEAM 3

As you can see, Team three is my ace team with two oodachis but I put Jirou in Team 1. The reason for this split is that if you see carefully the levels of everyone in Team 1, they go from miserable 42 to mid 70s sans Jirou. Because of this, most aren't able to OHKO anything and they take on forever to defeat enemies. Jirou is here to ensure they kill enough to pass or to weaken swords. BTW, CCP is completely unable to do anything at all, but I put him as leader and I think it's a very safe place throughout the fights. He'll be here to soak in EXP and level up while providing meat fodder.
Team 2 has 50-60 Tanto and wakis and one high-leveled Yoshiyuki. Because I neglected to train more tantos for world 6, the second most powerful is cute son Atsushi with 38 and greedy butt Hakata with 36. Wakis don't do particularly well to OHKO enemies in the night waves but sometimes they get critical hits and are capable of killing shit or weaken troops so that in round two they destroy everything. I'll be laying this out and our badly leveled teams are not here to OHKO everything and getting out fast because they are too weak for that. These teams are to ensure you get to the boss through stalling and switching.
Team 3 has two oodachi to take care of butt-yaris. I have brought some of my strongest swords to ensure they are capable of defeating all enemies and get the Rank A I need. Also, because they deal with the last battles, they only have to face 3 battles and not 10 in one go, increasing the chances of them keeping most of their troops or at least one or two before the final battle. (Also Precious Mikazuki is leader because fuck strategy)
Now, I'll be providing caps of battle results so you can see how things fare. A run might or might not go well, especially when luck is involved and your swords have to hit a specific target. Mine tend to flip flop between very competent and proficient killing machines and squirrel.like attention spam. In the buttyari battles, it's best if they decide to take care of everything that is not a yari because they hardly can destroy troops. Only Tarou, Dad and precious Mikazuki are capable of taking between 1-3 troop slots. The rest will deal piss poor damage.
I took screen caps before deciding my action but they reflect the state of the swords after the previous battle.

Result of Day one. As you can see, they did okay-ish for a completely underleveled team.

However in Night 2, those around their 50s, Hachisuka and Nagasone tend do to poorly. They can't really kill anything consistently because of their low level even if they aren't with an effective handicap unlike Jirou and piss-poor chip troops away while they get theirs lost. In two runs I did, Nagasone ended up going red. :U Also CCP is completely useless here since he is the very last to attack and he can hardly take out troops, even less kill a sword unless it has no troops left. This is why Jirou is very important because he has to make up for swords who can't kill shit. Yamanbagiri tends to do ok, not bright to murder everything but somewhat okay.

After Day 3, the situation grows more complicated. Nagasone lost his troops and received damage, however you see that him at level 53 is capable of surviving archers and yaris without going immediately to red. I know he won't get very far and his eventual KOing will get me a rank C but I need him to endure as much as possible and that we get to the next battle.

For day 4, I had Blanket and Barasone KO'd while I have one Jirou, an useless CCP with a surprisingly unscathed Hachi, and one Tsurumaru who has seen better days. Fortunately, from 5 to 7 I'll switch to Team 2. It's obvious to note that any attempt of going further with this team, ESPECIALLY in night 5 is ridiculously insane and will get me a loss. Also, KOd swords still get experience, they just get less depending from where they got KO'd. Barasone and Blanket fought in 3 of 4, so they'll get the according experience. Even if you have a sword begging to be pounded in the face, it is advisable to have them as fewish EXP is better to none and eventually in the approximately 166 runs you'll have to do to get Greenie, they'll eventually level up.

A 50s Waki-Tanto team will actually do wonders in night battles because they aren't as ridiculous as 6-1 which is very close to my heart for all the wrong reasons. I gave them a lot of troops for stalling but unlike Team 1, Team 2 is the one that fares the best despite the meager working conditions. This is a screen before going on to the actual battle and I do like the game is nice enough to show you the conditions of the next battle before you decide if you go on or not. Therefore, it's best to pay attention so that you don't switch accidentally too soon or too late.

As you can see, they all went and did particularly great with minimal troop loses. They did go the two battle rounds for Night 5 however, it wasn't as disasterous. A good way to gauge how well a sword will do here, and very particular of this event, is to see how much they lose troops. Do pay attention the first trial runs to see if your sword loses troops like Blondie forgets Greenie and if they do enough damage.

Night 6 results and they lost minimal troops. I'm surprised. Sayo is the only one here who can OHKO anyone. However, the rest can easily chip away troops and they can then kill them in the second round as opposed to piss-poor damage of the first team. Do notice that my first team is like that because I don't have enough swords to share for the third team and this battle.

Night 7 results. I was expecting fucking 6-2 Tanto misery but thank Jesus this tanto is not as extreme or else you'd be down to a sword if no one decided to IDK KILL IT. In terms of speed, my kids were able to get a hit before the enemy and the enemy tanto is the very last one to attack.
Now that it is day again, we switch to the third team AKA the powerhouse.

As a powerhouse, their role is to sweep anything away and take on the remainder of the battles. Since the final one is the one that gets you Blondie, it's in your best interest to stick your most powerful swords unless they are sent to other teams for support. Do have two high level Oodachis to take care for business, especially in a chance you might have to swap members. Do not bring here extremely weak swords as you NEED to ensure no one is KO'd in the last battle. Going there with someone red might increase the chances of C rank.

Also bringing anything like Waki or Tanto is absolute madness since the yari fuckers hit for 7 per attack and you can even get up to 28HP damage in a particularly bad run. This is the result of day 8.

And this is Day 99. As you can see, Ookurikara took TWO yari fucker attacks and got to 38HP. If you are extremely unlucky, the yari might gang on a member, which is why Wakis and Tanto with paper thing HP meters will suffer a ton in this phase. A waki, however, will do considerably better than a tanto, provided they keep their troops to survive the other attacks and just hope that the yaris attack everyone larger.
And with this team and powerhouse with TWO oodachi, you can easily get your Rank A.

With a pointless Yasusada to feed more swords or scrap for materials.
For those curious, my battle ranks were: B, B, B, C, A, A, A, A, B, A. My swords were smart enough to get rid of one Yari in day 8 in one turn and then the other in the next one, but they fucked up in Day 9. Just because you stick the strongest swords doesn't mean you can guarantee Rank A for days 8 and 9. However they only matter in that you need to pass them and the only rank you have to give a shit is the one in Day 10.
As you can see, the strategy is very simple, but the organizing of people is important. Ensure you have an Oodachi in Team 1, along with a strong sword for relief, plus Uchis and Wakis if you have them leveled. A level 50 team of tanto-waki will breeze through 5-7. Without yari idiocy, the last part is also easy if your team has two oodachis. Now, the difficulty lies in the first 4 battles. Team 1 will most likely consist of weak swords or those who might do flip flop damage. Because of it, I decided to change things a little, while also test how low your swords in 5-7 can be.
I did a second run with two big changes. I swapped Hachisuka out for Yoshiyuki with his lv 80 Uchi strength for Team 1 and covered his Team 2 spot with cute son Atsushi. Now Atsushi is level 38. He is tiny and precious and might not do well. I'll only show the results of their battles because my internet connection died twice while trying this thing.

This time, Jirou did REMARKABLY bad, losing all his troops while Blanket and Barasone got KO'd. Yoshiyuki did help in damage as his higher level was able to help sorta. In between 3 and 4, Barasone got KO'd and I was one man down for Day 4. I might take out Nagasone and replace him with someone else like Horikawa if I can test how 36 Hakata does. Especially after this:

Despite his cute underleveled figure (and my accidental fuck up with his troops), Atsushi managed to kill the shit out his enemies and not lose troops, perhaps because of a leader armor. He and Sayo were the only ones capable of OHKOing enemies and he had the honor of killing the Night 7 tanto. I'll later test this team switching Horikawa to Team 1 and covering his place with Hakata to see just how they fare.
This is all for now as I test other strategies. I do find this one is good if you have enough swords to fill in for spots, however, the next one will be for those who do not like to switch in teams or are in a dire situation and will just plow with one team.

- Lots of gold troops, in particular shields, heavy infantry/cavalry and basically, anything that has a lot of tiny people to use as meatshields.
- A high leveled team including tachis, wakis, uchis, tanto and everything. If you've gone through Ikedaya's nigthmare of a world, chances are you at least have some of these swords in acceptable levels.
- Hope
- A miracle
